The Hit the Road Dude meme

A driver leans out of the window of a white pickup parked on a lawn, points down the road and says: “Hit the road, dude. This ain't no state property.” The clip is 11 seconds long.

How people use it

As a reply that means “time to leave”: to end a group chat, to kick a friend off the couch, or to tell a guest the party is over. The version that spread most puts a dog in the driver’s seat, wearing a camo cap and a plaid shirt.
